Local Food Producers on show at Tory conference

Leading local food producers and growers from throughout the North West Region will be titillating Tory tastebuds during the Party's Conference at Blackpool next week.

The five Conservative MEP's elected last June, are throwing a "Thank You" Party at the Imperial Hotel, (Washington B Suite) at 7.00 p.m. on Wednesday, 6 October and will be provided local produce for delegates to sample.

"It is a hugely difficult time for the agricultural and horticultural community at present", commented the organiser, the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Atkins MEP, "and my colleagues and I thought that we should give the industry a little encouragement".

Featured producers will include prize-winning Dewlay Cheese from Garstang, Mr. & Mrs. Wilkinson's home-made ice cream from the Great Budworth Diary, Cheshire, Mr. & Mrs. Bowman's Cumberland Sausages from Carlisle, Cumbria, and plenty of fresh vegetables and flowers from Flavour fresh Salads and Huntapac Produce of West Lancashire.

The press and media will be very welcome to attend or take photographs etc. For further information, please contact the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Atkins MEP on: email: ratsmep@sir-robertatkins.org
