The Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Atkins, MEP for the North West of England & Deputy Leader of the Tory MEPs, welcomed the return of Sajjad Karim MEP to the Conservative Party from the Liberals. “As the son of a former Tory Councillor and active as a Young Conservative, his move to the Liberals some years ago was a loss,” commented Sir Robert, “but his return demonstrates that, once again, the Tory Party is a broad church, reflecting all and every viewpoint”.

The Tory MEP’s Deputy Leader continued:

“Saj tells me that he has signed up to all the Tory Party’s policy commitments and that he shares David Cameron’s view on the need for European reform. He is a positive gain for the North West Conservatives and I look forward to working with him.”
